Mark J. Hudson

Mark Hudson is a researcher in the Archaeolinguistic Research Group, Max Planck Institute for Geoanthropology (formerly MPI for the Science of Human History), Jena, Germany, and also an associate researcher of the Institut d’Asie Orientale, ENS de Lyon, France. He was previously Professor of Anthropology at the University of West Kyushu. His current research focuses on the history of early agricultural systems in the Japanese Islands. His recent books (both available open access) are Conjuring Up Prehistory: Landscape and the Archaic in Japanese Nationalism (Archaeopress, 2021) and Bronze Age Maritime and Warrior Dynamics in Island East Asia (Cambridge University Press, 2022).
